This was an amazing PPV! Easily the best PPV of 2012, the best in quite a few years actually!
The show opens with a very strong match which Randy Orton face Kane in a falls count anywhere match. This was a great way to start the show, they battle all over the arena even going backstage to brawl. Great use of weapons too. Overall, a very decent opener.
We then have Brodus Clay facing Dolph Ziggler in a short but alright match, Dolph is good as always and sells moves perfectly as always and Brodus does his job of being a huge guy with great ring presence. In all, not too bad, could have been longer but nothing to complain about too much.
We then have a very good match, Cody Rhodes vs Big Show in a tables match (to make it even better; the stipulation was decided by the spin of a wheel). This match was pretty good and one I like very much! In total there are 3 tables which are used during he match including one very extreme spot in which Cody is thrown out of the ring straight through a table. Overall, very good!
The next match was for the World Heavyweight Championship and it seen Daniel Bryan try to take the championship of off Sheamus in a 2-out-of-3 falls match. I wasn’t too excited for this match at first but I was defiantly proved wrong! This match was phenomenal, one of the best matches WWE has seen in a long time. It was perfect, these two men shown their full potential and made up for their 18 second match at Wrestlemania one month before this PPV. One of 2012’s top matches, an instant classic!
We then had a short match in which Ryback destroyed 2 local wrestlers. It was a transitional match and served it purpose, it’s always fun seeing Ryback destroy 2 guys and very interesting now seeing how far he has got in the WWE.
Then comes the WWE championships match, it’s CM Punk vs Chris Jericho in a Chicago Street Fight! CM Punk obviously has a huge reaction, the crowd in mental during this match as they are the entire night! This match was fantastic! Two of WWE’s best wrestlers showing their skill in a very violent match in front of CM Punk’s home crowd was amazing to see! This match continued the PPV’s use of violence as there is a huge spot with CM Punk putting Jericho through the announce table, loads of weapons and overall a very violent match! Highly enjoyable! Much better than their classic Wrestlemania match!
Between the WWE championship match and the main event there is a Diva’s title match, it was great seeing Layla return and it wasn’t too bad of a match. She defeats Nikki Bella in a short but meaningful match.
Then the final match of the card, a classic match, a unique match, something we’ll probably never see again, the most violent WWE match in the past 4 years and of course a very bloody match. Brock Lesnar vs John Cena, in an Extreme Rules match. There is so much blood in this match it is unreal, both men bleed during the match, John Cena is bleeding in the first 10 seconds of the match begging! There is non-stop violence throughout the entire match! This match will defiantly go down in history! The use of steel steps is brilliant too! An amazing ending to an amazing show!
In conclusion, this was one of the best WWE PPV’s in years! There is amazing wrestling displays and of course, lots of extreme moments! The use of 4 tables including the announcer’s desk, steel chairs, kendo sticks, the steel steeps, a backstage brawl and of course, loads of blood! Buy this DVD now as this is a brilliant PPV!
